THE YOGA OF SOUND

A fascinating glimpse into the vocal music of ancient India.
From simple devotional folk songs (kirtan), to the secrets of classical singers, Daniel will introduce you to the basic building blocks of melody and rhythm (raga & tala), and the traditional instruments used for vocal accompaniment. (tabla, harmonium and tamboura) No musical experience necessary!

THE TABLA DRUMS OF INDIA

A beginners introduction to the art and practice of the world’s most ubiquitous hand drums! Fast becoming as popular in the west as they are in India.

Daniel is a former teaching assistant to the great masters, Zakir Hussain, Swapan Chaudhuri and Ali Akbar Khan.

He will teach classical, folk and kirtan tabla and lead drum circles with other drums. Bring a tabla and doumbek, djembe, ashiko or 5 gallon water jug. Extra drums available by request.
